Hello! I am Antonia Zachariou and I am a Doctoral Researcher at the Faculty of Education of the University of Cambridge in Cambridge, UK. I am currently at the writing up stage of my PhD in Psychology and Education, exploring the opportunities afforded for children to develop their self-regulation through play. More specifically, my research looks at musical play and whether it could be another type of play fostering self-regulation. In general my research interests include (but are not limited to) self-regulation, metacognition, children’s development of self-regulation through play, learning through play, but also children’s musical play, musicality and music education. In my free time, I enjoy being engaged in anything that has to do with music, travelling and exploring the world.
